PHILADELPHIA -- Ryan Howard is starting to look like a former MVP. Pedro Borbon Jr. Jersey . Howard hit a three-run homer with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning to lift the Philadelphia Phillies to a 6-3 win over the Colorado Rockies on Wednesday night. Chase Utley hit a tying, RBI single off Boone Logan before Howard drove one out to left-centre for his fifth career walk-off homer. Howard finished the series 5 for 9 with two homers and nine RBIs. "I found the ball. Thats about it," Howard said. "With swinging, sometimes you have to tinker with a few things, sometimes it just finds you. You dont question it. You just try to roll with it." Howard, who was NL MVP in 2006 when he hit 58 homers, has struggled since tearing his Achilles tendon on the final swing of the 2011 season in a playoff loss. If he regains his old form, Howard could keep the Phillies in contention in a division that lacks a dominant team. "I believe this is a championship-calibre team," Howard said. "We just have to play like it. Weve talked about trying to build on games like this. Now its about doing it." Closer La Troy Hawkins (2-1) got the first out in the ninth before Tony Gwynn Jr. reached on second baseman D.J. LeMahieus throwing error. Ben Revere followed with a single to right. Jimmy Rollins then hit a foul pop that Troy Tulowitzki, a two-time Gold Glove winning shortstop, dropped for an error. But Hawkins retired Rollins on a liner to left. Logan entered and allowed Utleys line-drive single to right that scored Gwynn. Howard then connected on a 2-2 pitch for his ninth homer. Jonathan Papelbon (1-1) tossed a perfect ninth for the win. LeMahieu hit a tiebreaking solo homer in the eighth and Justin Morneau also hit a solo homer for Colorado. Phillies reliever Mike Adams pitched out of a bases-loaded, no-out jam in the seventh after Antonio Bastardo walked the first three hitters. Adams entered and retired pinch-hitter Carlos Gonzalez on a home-to-first double play bouncer to the mound. Adams then struck out pinch-hitter Tulowitzki to end the inning. "Im not going to back down from nobody," Adams said about not walking Tulowitzki. "Im not scared. Its competition. I feel Im better than anybody at the plate." Howard called Adams performance "phenomenal." But LeMahieu connected off Jake Diekman in the eighth, lining one into the left-field seats. It was LeMahieus first homer this season in 160 at-bats and fifth in 853 career at-bats. "Utley had a big hit, too," Tulowitzki said. "Sometimes you tip your hat to the other guy." Phillies manager Ryne Sandberg successfully won a challenge in the fifth inning after second baseman Utley fielded Charlie Culbersons grounder and ran to the bag ahead of Corey Dickerson. Second base umpire Jim Wolf ruled Dickerson safe, but the call was overturned after a video review. Starters Roberto Hernandez and Jordan Lyles both were effective. Philadelphias Hernandez allowed two runs and six hits, pitching around five walks in 5 2-3 innings. Lyles gave up two runs and five hits in five innings. Colorado took a 2-0 lead in the third. Morneau led off with a shot to right for his 10th homer. Dickerson walked and scored on Wilin Rosarios double to left-centre. The Phillies answered in the bottom half. Utley hit his major league-leading 22nd double with two outs. Howard followed with an RBI single to cut it to 2-1. Marlon Byrd lined an RBI single with two outs in the fifth to tie it at 2. Half of Byrds RBIs (15 of 30) have come with two outs this season. Rollins, playing in his 2,000th career game, snapped an 0-for-15 slump with a seventh-inning single. But he was forced at second on Utleys liner to right that Michael Cuddyer caught on a short-hop. NOTES: Commissioner Bud Selig, in town to accept an award for his work on cancer education and research, spoke about a variety of topics before the game. Selig said hes pleased with the search committees process for finding a new commissioner and theres no timetable to pick his successor. Selig also said hes happy with the replay system and he doesnt envision the NL going to a designated hitter unless theres a "catalytic" event. ... Gonzalez wasnt in the starting lineup because of a right calf contusion. He jogged slowly to first on his grounder to the mound. ... The Phillies open a five-game series against the Mets on Thursday night. David Buchanan (1-0) makes his second career start against Zack Wheeler (1-5). ... The Rockies are off Thursday before opening a series at Cleveland on Friday. Sonny Jackson Jersey .C. -- The shot that would have beaten No. Andy Messersmith Jersey . -- Sami Salo joked that as the shootout went on and on, one thing went through his mind: "Youve got to tie up your skates. http://www.custombravesjersey.com/custom-deion-sanders-jersey-large-237z.html . -- C.J. Wilson parked his car and laughed while signing autographs for faceless fans who handed bats, balls and cards to the pitcher from the other side of a brick wall.CINCINNATI, Ohio -- A disputed call went the Bengals way -- not that they absolutely needed it. Getting Andy Dalton back in form was quite enough. Dalton regained his passing touch in time to keep the Bengals perfect at home and in control of the AFC North on Sunday. He threw for three touchdowns and ran for another in a 42-28 victory over Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts. The Bengals (9-4) kept their firm grip on first place, two games ahead of Baltimore with three to play. "Were on a roll," middle linebacker Rey Maualuga said. "At the beginning of the year, we had three goals. We wanted to be undefeated at home, win the AFC North and eventually be world champions. "Were close to the goals we wanted to get to. Weve got to be good from here out." It had been a while since Dalton was this good. He was the AFCs offensive player for October, but hadnt put together a consistent game since. He was as good as ever on Sunday, helping the Bengals improve to 6-0 at Paul Brown Stadium on a cold, windy day -- 28 degrees at kickoff with a wind chill of 19. "We know what were capable of, and weve got some momentum now," said Dalton, who was 24 of 35 for 275 yards without a sack or interception. "But weve got to keep it going." BenJarvus Green-Ellis had a pair of 1-yard touchdown runs -- one of them on a review that overturned a call -- as the Bengals got ahead 21-0 and held on. The Colts (8-5) had another slow start in the cold, falling behind 21-0 before Luck threw four touchdown passes to keep them close. They never caught up as Dalton got the better of a head-to-head matchup of up-and-coming quarterbacks from Texas. Despite the loss, the Colts clinched the AFC South later Sunday when Denver beat Tennessee 51-28. Indianapolis is in the playoffs but has some major concerns. The Colts were drubbed 40-11 in Arizona two games ago and needed Adam Vinatieris five field goals to beat Tennessee 22-14 last week. "Weve got some things to clean up, but we certainly came down here with the mindset that we wanted to win this football game and certainly win the division that way," coach Chuck Pagano said. The Bengals are having their best season at home since 1988, when they won all eight regular-season home games and two playoff ggames on the way to a second Super Bowl appearance and loss to San Francisco. Touki Toussaint Jersey. . Theyre in position to clinch their first AFC North title since 2009 with two home games in the last three weeks. Dalton was sharp from the outset, completing 6 of 7 for 81 yards on the Bengals first drive, including a 29-yard touchdown pass to Marvin Jones. The Colts have been outscored 49-9 in the first quarters of their past six games. The Bengals got a pivotal touchdown on a reversed call with 1:06 left in the first half. They went for it on fourth down from the Colts 1-yard line. Green-Ellis took the handoff and appeared to get tripped by nose tackle Josh Chapman, who dived into the backfield and swiped at his feet. "I hit his foot when he came through," said Chapman, who started celebrating his play. Green-Ellis said he felt someone trip him. He stumbled ahead, avoided a couple of defenders, landed at the 1-yard line and slid into the end zone. He was initially ruled down, but the Bengals were awarded a touchdown after a review. The review focused only on whether a defender touched Green-Ellis as he fell near the goal line, not whether Chapman had tripped him in the backfield, referee Jeff Triplette said. "We looked at the goal line, (those) were the shots that we looked at," Triplette said. Trailing 21-0, Luck finally rallied the Colts. He completed a slant pass that DaRick Rogers took 69 yards for a touchdown and another short pass that LaVon Brazill turned into a 19-yard touchdown, slipping through the hands of six defenders. Dalton and the Bengals never let the Colts get closer than seven points. Notes: The Bengals moved 2012 Pro Bowl tackle Andrew Whitworth to left guard, and right guard Kevin Zeitler was out of the lineup for the third straight game because of injury. The Colts were missing guards Hugh Thornton and Jeff Linkenbach. ... Colts RB Chris Rainey will get an MRI on an injured ankle. ... The Bengals have scored 49, 41 and 42 points in their past three home games, the first time theyve scored at least 40 in three straight at home. ... RB Giovani Bernard had 99 yards on 12 carries, coming up a yard short of the first 100-yard rushing game by a Bengal this season. He also had 49 yards on four catches. ' ' '
